A magnetic brooch solves that: one half sits on the outside as the decorative flower, the other sits behind the fabric, and the two hold together through the layers.
How do you wear a magnetic brooch on a tudung?
There is no single right place, so choose the spot that keeps your tudung neat through the day:
- At the side of the neck or below the chin: holds the layers together and puts the brooch where it is seen in every photo.
- At the shoulder: secures the end of a long scarf or shawl so it stays draped.
- On the chest: keeps an inner layer or a loose neckline in place and adds a finishing touch to a plain baju kurung.
Place the decorative half on the outside, put the back half behind the fabric, and let the magnets draw them together. Check the position in a mirror before you head out, and remove the brooch by sliding the halves apart rather than pulling it straight off the fabric.

Choose a magnetic brooch for chiffon, georgette, silk, jersey and other delicate fabrics, or any scarf you do not want marked. A brooch pin still has its place on thick cotton and structured fabrics, and you can see ours in the full brooch collection. Very thick or heavily layered fabric may reduce how firmly a magnet holds, so try the brooch on your own tudung before an important event.
